The aim of this course is to build on the knowledge and skills gained in previous didactic courses and integrate them in the context of lesson, syllabus, and course design. All topics and issues will be discussed in relation both to the historical perspectives on language teaching and learning, and to the current Czech education policy and its ongoing major revisions. Special attention will be paid to the role of key competences in ELT and to the possible methods of their implementation in everyday classroom practice.
