The course aims to introduce students to the recent findings in psychology and cognitive science regarding human cognition. Special attention will be paid to the strengths and weaknesses of our reasoning, which have significant implications not only for our everyday life but also for the realm of expertise. Phenomena such as introspection, heuristics and biases, rationalization, confabulation, self-deception, knowledge illusion, or free will will be discussed. To pass the course, students must read the texts assigned for each lesson, and actively participate in discussions. Max. two absences are allowed.
