The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the functioning of democratic political systems in the countries of Western Europe and the USA and to focus on the main themes associated with Western European politics and American politics. In the beginning the course presents selected key aspects of political systems in a comparative perspective, incl. relevant classifications and typologies. Then the course focuses on the political systems of selected countries (USA, UK, France, Ireland, Germany, Austria, Switzerland - other countries will be covered by the course in next semester).
